As we are getting closer to the IHF M19 World Championship in Croatia, it is time to present the second city that will host the championship. Today it is Koprivnica’s turn.
During the preliminary round, Koprivnica will host groups C and D. From 2nd to 8th of August, Koprivnica will be a home for young players from Egypt, Japan, Iceland, Czechia, Spain, Brazil, South Korea and Bahrain. At the end of the tournament, games for 9th to 15th place will also be played there.
Koprivnica is a charming city located in northern Croatia, know for its rich history and beautiful surroundings. Koprivnica’s city center is dotted with medieval and baroque buildings and monuments. All players, teams and fans will be lucky to explore the beautiful scenery. Beside its beauty, Koprivnica is also home of the most successful Croatian women’s handball club Podravka Vegeta.
Josip Samaržija – Bepo is the sports hall where all the games in Koprivnica will be played. It was opened only two years ago and it was named after the Croatian handball coach who made a huge mark in womens handball.
People of Koprivnica have a big passion for handball, so they are more than ready to be hosts for some of the most talented young handball players in the world.
